Urgent Care & Same-Day Appointments

Veterinary Urgent Care When Your Pet Needs to Be Seen Today
Not every unexpected pet health concern requires an emergency hospital—but sometimes waiting several days for a routine appointment isn't the right choice either.
At Oak Landing Animal Hospital, we offer same-day appointments and urgent care during our regular business hours for dogs and cats with sudden illnesses, injuries, or other concerns that need prompt veterinary attention.
Our team will assess your pet, determine the appropriate level of care, and help you understand your treatment options. If your pet's condition requires specialized or emergency care beyond what we can provide in a general-practice setting, we will help direct you to the appropriate emergency or referral facility.
Common Reasons to Seek Same-Day Care
Urgent appointments may be appropriate for concerns such as:
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Loss of appetite
- Lethargy or sudden changes in behavior
- Coughing or difficulty breathing
- Ear infections or painful ears
- Urinary problems
- Skin infections or hot spots
- Minor wounds or injuries
- Lacerations or bite wounds
- Limping or sudden pain
- Allergic reactions
- Eye irritation or injury
- Ingestion concerns
- Snake envenomations
- Collapse/Extreme Lethargy
- Dystocia/Birthing Problems
- Sudden changes in your pet's health
- Any other changes that seem unusual or worrying to you
Appointments are highly recommended, as same-day availability can vary based on the day's schedule and the needs of our patients.
We also welcome walk-in and same-day urgent-care cases during our regular business hours, when availability allows. A higher fee may apply to walk-in and urgent-care visits.
Calling ahead is always encouraged so our team can determine the best way to accommodate your pet.
When Your Pet Needs Emergency Care
If we determine your pet needs a higher level of care, we'll explain why and help direct you to an appropriate emergency or specialty facility.
If your pet is experiencing severe breathing trouble, collapse, uncontrolled bleeding, or another life-threatening emergency, please go directly to the nearest 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital.
Some conditions require immediate emergency or specialty care that is beyond the scope of a general-practice hospital.
Important Urgent Care Disclaimer
Please note: Our urgent-care and same-day services are available during our regular business hours and are intended for conditions that require prompt veterinary attention but can be appropriately managed within a general-practice setting. We are not a 24-hour emergency hospital. Availability for same-day and walk-in visits is limited and may vary based on patient volume and staffing.
